Dr. Mark Goodwin, the founder of Brierwood Technical Institute, is a world-renowned FOA Master Instructor with decades of experience in both the field and the classroom. As a pioneer in fiber optics and structured cabling, he has trained students from around the globe.
Dr. Goodwin is celebrated for his ability to simplify complex subjects, making them accessible and enjoyable to learn. His light-hearted humor and engaging teaching style create a fun and effective learning environment.
He founded Brierwood Technical Institute with a clear mission: "We can improve people's lives, one student at a time."
Dominique McGregor

Dominique McGregor's journey in fiber optics began at the young age of 13. She earned her CFOT certification by 15 and gained valuable experience working as an Associate Instructor and Technician. By 17, she was already teaching optical fiber technologies to engineers at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. At 19, Dominique became the youngest FOA instructor in history.
Dominique has traveled globally with Brierwood, imparting her knowledge to a diverse range of students. She is particularly skilled in adaptive technique training, assisting veterans and others with physical challenges to succeed in their training.
Her teaching philosophy is simple yet profound: "If someone puts extra effort into learning, I will go the extra mile to train them."
Daniel Faulk

Daniel began his career in Fiber Optics and Telecommunications in 2008 after medically retiring from the US ARMY. He has spent most of his career on the installation side of the business and has worked his way from being an install technician to Regional Management to owning his own contract installation business doing work for Major ISPs in the Southeastern US. In addition to his FOA certifications, Daniel holds an Electrical Contractors License, Low Voltage Unrestricted Contractors License, and NICET Fire Alarm Certifications. Since Retiring from the Army, Daniel has trained Individuals for Major Telecom Companies all over the US. He has a passion for helping Others learn and particularly helping fellow Veterans.
Gregory James
Head of Product Research and Development

Gregory began working with Fiber Optics in 2005 as a means to deliver internet and connectivity solutions to private Executive homes and properties. He has decades of experience both engineering, building, deploying and managing small fiber data networks (OSP/ISP) both in the United States as well as Internationally (He speaks fluent Spanish). Originally a student of Brierwood, after going through all the classes and witnessing Dr. Goodwin in action, casually solve some of the most complex challenges for clients, prominent ones… he was hooked. Aside from teaching at Brierwood, he leads the product testing, research and development side for optical products and test equipment. This involves partnerships with very established players in the fiber optic industry where Brierwood helps to test, refine and debug products ranging from optical cable, to connectors, fusion splicing, test equipment, service delivery handoffs and OLT’s and everything else in between. The more difficult the challenge, the more creative the team at Brierwood becomes. Gregory does consulting work through a company called Seviar as well as leads a local Atlanta based ISP - Fiber Atlanta. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University, with specializations both in Health Information Technology and Entrepreneurship Studies. He holds many other IT technical certifications and is also Licensed Unrestricted Low Voltage permit holder. His brother, both Grandfather’s and Great Grandfather were Veterans. He enjoys giving back, teaching, traveling, yoga and ballroom dance are some of his favorite hobbies.
